The morning of Caitlin and Adam’s outdoor wedding at Poplar Grove this is what the radar looked like:
The whole morning it poured rain, even pausing the set up of the tent, but we cruised on setting up and assembling anything and everything we could until there was a break in the storm. Luckily the windows of dry weather were perfectly timed and even allowed for a quick wipe down of the seats before guests arrived. I can tell you that the radar continued to be this colorful and threatening all day, even during the ceremony, but as fate would have it, they had perfect weather. I’ll never be able to explain why every radar said it was 100% chance of rain and it didn’t rain, but I’ll take it! Just LOOK at how amazing this wedding was:
Caitlin and her family took on so many adorable DIY projects that made the wedding seem so personal and helped make the spaces tie together really well. This door was the drown jewel for me, is it not to die for?!
I think for brides who are crafty and have a lot of DIY projects, having a coordinator is pretty important. Can you imagine all the time you spent on these projects not to have them displayed or worked into your special day the way you imagined? Fortunately Caitlin, her Mom and I met 2 months before her wedding to go over what they were working on, and we talked through diagrams of where everything was supposed to go and talk about the transportation of everything.
Poplar Grove is a fantastic place to have a wedding if you are looking for an outdoor space. They had the main house for the girls to get ready in with a pretty bridal area, a barn where we put the food, gifts, guest book and bar, plenty of parking and a huge yard for a tent. I found them SO great to work with including let me arrive at the crack of dawn to start and stay well after the wedding for clean up.
Adam, the groom, does lighting and morning of the wedding he and his buddies were there setting up the best lights! I looked for a picture from the road but haven’t been able to find one – it was SO cool looking! Good lighting makes such a big impact!
Congrats again Caitlin and Adam!! I so enjoyed working with y’all and thought the wedding was as fun as it was pretty!
