Molly and Ozzie are not only a fun and awesome couple that I was lucky to work with for their wedding, but I am fortunate enough to call them my friends as well!
Working with Molly was a blast! We started day dreaming and scheming about a week after she got engaged and I was so tickled to see it all come together in about a year.
We started with Molly and Ozzie’s favorite colors, purple and teal, and used birds, burlap and mason jars as a subtle themes throughout. The ceremony music were all Beetles songs and were preformed by the bride’s uncle.
Both the ceremony and reception took place in the same space at St. Thomas Preservation Hall here in downtown Wilmington, NC. Having your wedding in one location is convenient for guests and can most likely save you money and time on your wedding day but it can take some detailed timing to flip a space in under an hour.
Molly crafted many of the details of her wedding along with her super talented mom and I really do think it’s the personal touches that end up making a wedding so memorable. Having a coordinator for your wedding is key to execute some of these personal touches.
The bride and I joked after the wedding that we didn’t get a single picture together and then I found this last picture at the end of her proofs: me helping them into their get-a-way car and handing her last minute things before they left. As an event coordinator I strive to get out of the way of pictures as much as possible but I am secretly glad her photographer caught this one!
